Enrollment and Attendance FAQs

Who is eligible to attend Arkansas Virtual Academy (ARVA)?

K–12 students who reside in Arkansas and meet the age requirements are eligible for full-time enrollment. Admission to ARVA is based on the completion and submission of all enrollment forms and materials within state guidelines.

During open enrollment, a lottery will be used to place students in the school if there are more applicants than open slots. Students will be placed on a waitlist based on lottery selection. After open enrollment, if there are available slots, students will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Should the need for a wait list emerge, a waitlist application will be date-stamped when all paperwork and placement test results have been received.

As Arkansas public school students, all ARVA students must comply with the state-required minimum number of 178 days and 1,078 instruction hours per grade level, which averages to 30 hours per week, six hours per day. Attendance is logged daily in the Online School by a parent or Learning Coach.
