How It Works (K-8)
The Arkansas Virtual Academy is a tuition-free online public school that uses the K12 curriculum, which is accessed via an online school as well as through more traditional methods. Materials are delivered right to the family’s doorstep—including books, CDs, and even materials for science projects.
We also partner parents and students with a highly qualified, Arkansas-licensed teacher to guide and track their progress and achievement through the curriculum. Frequent face-to-face meetings and events are available as well.
Student-to-student interaction is emphasized, so ARVA students are provided with a variety of opportunities for social activities and engagement.
Who is this intended for?
The Arkansas Virtual Academy K–8 program serves K–8 students who officially reside within the state of Arkansas.
What are the costs?
Because we are part of the public school system, the Arkansas Virtual Academy is tuition free. The entire K12 curriculum is provided free of charge. Families who qualify also receive a loaner computer, printer, and Internet stipend.
How do I get started?
